When I started writing PHP web applications I only needed two applications to function: Notepad++ and Mercurial Hg. Since then, the web has changed quite a bit, which led me to needing an integrated development environment to write web applications. After trying several IDE’s I settled on Netbeans for all my projects.
Netbeans gives you the ability to export and import color themes or code highlights. I like my screen dark and my code bright. When I first started using Netbeans for PHP development, I searched everywhere for a Dark color theme that would work for me. But is often the case, I didn’t find anything that suited me so I created my own and have refined it over the years.
So today I am releasing my Dark Color Theme for Netbeans PHP. It is compatible with Netbeans 6.8-6.9 for sure, and I would assume it works for older versions as well. You will need to go to Tools/Options within Netbeans and import the BrandonDark.zip file. Then choose BrandonDark as your color theme.
